Example: eCommerce.

eCommerce opens up all sorts of questions and dangerous traps. If you own a shop, selling a widget to a customer is easy - they walk in, pick it up from the display, pay for it and take it away. If there is no widget on display, it is not available for purchase. If you still have one to sell, but another customer has it in their hand ready to buy, it is not available for anyone else...

...but on the internet, it is very different. Many smaller businesses use the same stock to sell online / by mail order / by telephone / physically - who gets your stock? If there is one widget left, and customer 1 is on the phone buying it, can it still be bought by customer 2 online? If customer 1 has the widget in their hand wandering around the shop, but you sell it to customer 2 online who gets it?
